Settl vs CartHook
CartHook used to sell a full replacement checkout but is now a post-purchase upsell app on Shopify's own checkout. Settl replaces the checkout itself and includes an offer after purchase. They're not like-for-like: CartHook adds upsells to Shopify's checkout, Settl gives you your own. As a CartHook alternative, Settl makes sense if you also want your own domain and payment providers.

Pick CartHook if…
- You want to keep Shopify's checkout and Shopify Payments, and only add post-purchase offers.
- You want very detailed offer flows with accept and decline paths.
Pick Settl if…
- You want your own checkout on your own domain and your own payment providers.
- You want an order bump before paying without Shopify Plus.
- You'd rather not pay per order or a share of upsell revenue.
Questions
Is CartHook still a checkout?+
Not anymore. CartHook now works on Shopify's own checkout and adds offers after purchase and on the thank-you page, plus checkout offers on Plus. Settl replaces the checkout with your own.
How much does CartHook cost?+
When we checked in October 2026: pay as you go with 20 free orders a month, then $0,12 per order plus 1% of upsells; Growth at $49 a month with 1.000 orders included; Scale at $149. Settl is €29,99 a month with 0% per order.
Can I use CartHook and Settl together?+
Not on the same orders. CartHook's offers run on Shopify's checkout, and with Settl buyers pay on your own checkout, which has its own offer after purchase.
